Half burgundy crushed morrocco over burgundy cloth boards; t.e.g. Very sound. Estelle Doheny’s copy, with a letter from Maggs Brothers to Mrs. Doheny laid in, date Jan. 4, 1950, signed by H. Clifford Maggs. The letter briefly describes the book, to be distributed by Mr. Maggs in April of that year. 50 copies are to be offered for sale, of a total of 100 printed. With Mrs. Doheny’s paper label (but not her more elaborate book plate) on the front pastedown endpaper.

Internally very sound, with a small amount of insect damage (“worm-holes”) in margins of last few leaves, not affecting text. Overall a very good copy, in an attractive recent binding.
